Rentparis.com information please
We've recently attempted via the internet to contact rentparis.com for an apartment rental. We have also faxed them rental information. We have yet to hear from them(48 hours) via the internet. Does anyone have experience with them and how long connection and/or confirmation usually takes. We faxed to a US office so the question of August and business being closed seems moot.

hi pam,
I rented from them in april of this year. they did take their time getting back to me (at least a couple of days). i also sent them a "did you get my last email?" email once when they didn't reply to a specific question.
they eventually did answer my questions and i had to pester a little to get confirmation but by the time i left for my trip i had everything i needed.
by the way, i enjoyed my experience with them - the price was right and i would rent from them again.

I have rented twice from rentparis and always heard from them within two days. We have always been very satisfied. They are one of the few rental agencies that allow short term (e.g. 3 nights) rentals. We rented rue braque for 2 of us and rue ste croix de la bretonnerie for 5 of us. (2 separate trips)

Since I read your post I decided to try the rentparis website. It is not available. I don't know what that means. Perhaps they are updating or reconstructing their site or at the worst they are no longer in the rental agency business. I would recommend looking for alternatives.

I had an apartment on reserve with them and I mailed them a cashiers check several weeks ago.
The check was returned uncashed this week. Combined with the website being down I am a little concerned.
I have sent them an email and will let you know what I hear back. In the meantime I am going on a search for a back up plan!

Patrick,
The check was put in a new envelope addressed to me and returned. I mailed it to Belgium.
The only other thing in the envelope was rentparis card with the US address on it. Perhaps I was suppose to mail the check there? The contract indicated the check was to go to Burssels and I emailed RentParis to that effect when I faxed the contract. However, until I hear from RentParis the check is staying in my possesion.
I have found several potentials on www.vrbo.com and since several of these take credit cards, the RentParis deal may be off. While I like the apartment this is making me nervous.

I have not tried to locate a phone number. I did not discover my issue until LATE Friday night. I figured that on the weekend I would probably only get a service who could deal with issues if I was in an apartment, not lease me one.

Well since I did not hear anything back today I went to the web site to look up a phone number... THERE ISN'T ONE!
Also, several of the other apartments I located are either taken or not flexible on the dates. This is now making me very nervous.
Does anyone have a phone number?

I hope you get this straightened out, I'm surprised at how picky they are about the exact name as US banks don't seem to have a problem cashing checks I write that are slight variations on what is the official name, probably.
I don't thinkk that is exactly a real company but a group of individual owners, sort of a cooperative or something, which is why you can't get a real phone number -- I don't think they have an office. Maybe the apt. you wanted is owned by someone in Belgium and that's how you got that address? I think they may be using one of those free internet FAX number services so it looks like they are in the US (eFAX uses area code 413).
