Recommendations in Florence
Hi,
I'm helping my sister and her husband in searching for a place to stay in Florence for an upcoming trip (6 nights) to visit her daughter who's attending school there. I don't know anything (neither do they) about Florence. Theyr'e looking to stay somewhere between the Arno (river) and the Il Duomo. Hopefully someone has some suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
Paul

Hello, Paul. What is their budget for lodgings in Florence? That will help Fodorites assist with some recommendations. And perhaps their daughter could check into some lodgings since she is in Florence. Anyway, more details will help you get better suggestions. Best regards.

Not sure about your budget, but I have stayed at Relais Uffizi a few times, with nice and clean rooms; right next to Piazza Signora, short walk to the Arno and Duomo, http://www.relaisuffizi.it/

We have stayed at the Hotel Casci both times we have been to Florence. And we won't stay anywhere else. It is 2 minutes to the Duomo and 10 to the Arno. The price is great. And discounted further if you pay with cash.
Read the reviews on Tripadvisor.com. Here is their website. We absolutely love this place. Family owned and run; breakfast is awesome, cannot beat the hospitality:

For 6 nights they may prefer an apartment. It will give them more space and the option of eating in. Check here for more hotel and apartment options-
