quick Munich hotel suggestions

My husband and I need to book a hotel in Munich. The dates will be Sept. 2-7. Somewhere close to the train station and walking distance to the square. Prefer moderate to upscale hotels. thanks everyone, I know I should have started sooner.

The Karlsplatz is where you want to find a hotel close by. Easy walking distance to this hotel and look on a google map and you will find others even closer. For Sept in Munich make sure there is ac.

I hope she didn't mean the Karlsplatz by "square".

Marienplatz would be a better choice and still walkable.

I think she meant close to the Karlsplatz station to the the Marienplatz. Very nice walk with tons of great stores and shops and the Augustiner beer hall. I love that area.

We stayed at the Anna Hotel, which is a block from the train station and across from one of the main entrances to the square. Rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable with huge bathrooms. Very nice breakfast as well.

Some complain it is noisy but we did not have that problem - I think we were on the 5th floor. Loved the location. http://www.annahotel.de/en/hotel.html

Hi again Duer- use my suggestion to find a Munich hotel in your RODT thread. Also, don't worry about staying in the middle of Munich. With 5 nights you will probably use the Ubahn or Sbahn a few times to get to sites away from the center anyway. You can stay at any hotel within a few miles of the Marienplatz and be in the center of Munich (including the HauptBahnhof) within 10-15 minutes.

Have a great trip!!!
