Question about Naples/Capri in New Year

Hi, would anyone have experience or knowledge about spending 31 Dec and 1 Jan in and around Naples? I've read before that the New Year celebrations in Naples is quite spectacular (fireworks and all? not so much as drinking). I am also eager to plan a day trip to Capri (as well as another day to Pompeii). Would anyone have advice on where to go where sights are open on those 2 days?

At the moment I think Pompeii is closed 1 Jan so I have scheduled it for 30 December. I am then thinking spending 31 Dec in Naples and 1 Jan at Capri. I also understand the funicular is closed in Capri as is the boat roads to see the Blue Grotto, but I'm more excited about seeing the coastline at Capri (I won't have time for the Amalfi Coast, but intend to head to Cinque Terre). Are there other things to look out for on these 2 days where I fear many businesses and attractions might close? Also, should a trip to Capri be cancelled if it rains that day?

I will be in Naples from midday 29 December to early morning of 2nd January.

Many many thanks!! I'm in a kind of a rush having just finished exams and needing to plan the whole 2 week trip in a day or two (while still needing to head out to buy some basics before the trip) so some of these might be silly questions..
