Naples and Capri
My grandaughter(age 15) and I, and another couple are on a cruise which will be stopping in Naples for one day in June.
Since we will have only one day will we have time to sightsee Naples and go to Capri? We would love to do both if possible and get back to the ship on tiem.
Thank you, Crystal

I would head out to Capri and do Naples when you return. Actually I would spend my entire day on Capri and skip Naples unless you like a very crowded and rambunctious city. Capri is gorgeous and there's enough to do there to fill up the day in a more relaxed fashion than Napoli.

I just spent a day in Naples in January and though the city is exceptional in many ways - especially its old-world look and narrow alleys i found it incredibly filthy - litter all over that hadn't been swept up in ages, etc.
Don't get me wrong, Naples has some great sights and i enjoyed but i too would say head to Capri for a lovely boat ride and neat island paradise of sorts - and the Blue Grotto!

I would go to Capri also. There are a few tourist sites in Naples at the port so you can easily see them in an hour or so. The Castle Nuovo, Royal Palace,(usually opened til 7pm) San Carlo opera house and the Galleria Umberto. They are all within about half mile of the Port.

Hi C,
>will we have time to sightsee Naples and go to Capri?
I recommend against trying to do both.
If it were me, I would take a cab up to the Archaeological Museum (closed Tuesday) and walk back down to the ship.
The Capella Sansevero is well worth a visit for the Veiled Christ, as well as its other works.
Don't leave Naples without having some pizza.
Enjoy your visit.
