I had some changes yesterday. The site page for the forum is changed and maybe our cookies have been changed.

Anyway, it's running now.

It's weird I can get the new format pages with Firefox but with IE I'm still getting the posts on the page and nothing else., can't even sign in there.

Mine seems to work now but the automatic login is gone, I had to get a new password.

(posting this to check if it really works)

There seems to have been some tinkering with addressing within the site. My old bookmark for the Europe Forum gives me a crippled version of that page; I went back to the home site (fodors.com), selected "Community" and then "Europe" and everything was fine -- new page design, automatic login. Of course, I then changed my bookmark.

I had the same problem as Padraig - my old bookmark didn't display the page properly so I reaccessed it via the homepage/menus, replaced my bookmarks and now all seems to be fine.

No problems posting since the site has been tweaked. Only needed to log in once. I'm on Firefox on a Mac. Posting this to add to the body of info around the situation.

The pages are certainly loading faster thanks to the redesign. I've been looking at the source code on different pages to see who designed the site and what the site structure is (have been trying to get a good CMS website up right now and so I'm in "code awareness" mode right now).

I haven't noticed any improvements myself, in terms of pages loading faster, but I never really had a problem with that.

I've had no problem with the new format, on either my work or home computer, and I've used both Firefox and IE browsers. I did have to log in once after they changed the format, but after that, it retained my info as usual, with both browsers.

I'm surprised that I didn't even have to log in since the new changes. The only thing I've noticed other than the minimal layout changes is that although I had minimal ads with my Firefox, now since the change at Fodors, I have absolutely NONE.

No ads with Firefox, NeoP? Wondering what the difference is, as I have ads on Firefox. Visa to the right at the moment, Palazzo Las Vegas (whatever that is) at the top of the page, and Waikiki at the bottom of the previous page. Is there a setting that I'm clueless about?

On Firefox you can set your preferences or options to eliminate all ads (called adblock). Don't ask me exactly how, but I followed directions and it was easy. Funny thing is though, there were still some ads appearing here until this latest change by Fodors.

Right now I have a totally blank column to the right. No adds top or bottom.

This is very easy to do with a little knowledge of Windows. The "problem" is that Fodors let one company handle all their advertising. Those ads are located on differnt servers outside of fodors.com that are easy to recognize.

It wouldn't be fair to Fodors to describe the details of how it works!!! They do need to make money too!
