Praiano on the Amalfi Coast?
The last four days of our month long [first] trip to Italy, we're spending on the Amalfi Coast. I'd found a neat looking hotel there called the Onda Verde [with a great web site "www.ondaverde.it/ingform.htm"] in the little town of Praiano. Praiano is supposed to be halfway between Amalfi and Positano. However, I've been visiting this travel talk site for some time, and have never seen Praiano mentioned as a possibility on the Amalfi Coast. Can anyone advise me about it from first hand experience?

Indeed it is on the Amalfi Coast, down from Amalfi and closer to Salerno. It is accessible via SITA bus from Salerno, or from a local car-chaffeur company. I have heard of that hotel and would imagine that it is quite delightful. Praiano is a small, not-so-touristed town, therefore more isolated since not on any direct ferry/hydrofoil routes. I will be there mid-September and am looking forward to it!

rexmor, type in Praiano in the search box and you will get alot of info, esp. from Ira. I really liked the Onda Verde, I haven't stayed there but I had lunch there and I have stayed in the area above it. Of all the hotels in Praiano I would chose it.

Thanks to both of you. I did use the search function and it was very helpful.
Since we're going to be doing tours [Pompeii, Capri, Amalfi Coast] during the day, this should be a nice quiet place to stay at night. I'm again feeling good about my choice.

We stayed in Praiano for a week. It is a nice place to stay. The town is very small and on the main road (between Amalfi and Positano), which is busy. We stayed at the Tramonto D'Oro. It is a great hotel. Give it a look. I agree the Onda Verde has a wonderful web site, but I liked the Tramonto D'Oro better.

Hi rexmor,
Praiano is 6 km East of Positano.
The Onda Verde is at the East end of town. The buses stop at the entrance.
You might find the AC part of my trip report helpful.
