I stayed in Praiano a few months ago. I have a friend that lives in the Amalfi coast and he actually picked the area. It's less expensive than the popular Positano and is centrally located on the coast. The town is smallish but there are a few restaurants. Much quieter than some other areas. It depends on what you are looking for and how much you can afford, but I thought it was great.

I stayed in Praiano in 1999 at the Netuno hotel. My room had a balcony that looked out over the sea. It was really nice. The whole Amalfi area is stunningly beautiful. Dont go in the summer time. Way too crowded. I was there in Sept and the weather was good.

Many people have. If your type "praiano AND hotel" in the text box at the top of this page, you'll pull up over 50 threads. Here's a recent one to get you started:

If you add to this with a more specific question, such as specific ammenities, price range, and so forth that you are seeking, you're likely to receive more useful responses.

Rented an apartment there in May of 2002. Loved it.

praiano is a superbe base for the amalfi coast. it is pretty, inexpensive and central. to the east: amalfi and ravello; to the west: positano, the islands and sorrento.

it sports surprisingly good local restaurants and an unencombered by rampant tourism ambiance hard to replicate on the costeria.

Hi susanalyce,

Haven't been there yet, but have reservations for the Hotel Le Sirene in October.
