Prague in December
I am from Savannah, Ga. I am dating a girl from the czech rep. and she has to go back to school in sept. She wants me to come visit her during my christmas break, which is from Dec. 16th to Jan. 8th. Is this a good time to go? What are plane ticket prices around this time?

Prague will be very beautiful in December. It will also be quite cold, average temps in December are about 32 F. There also probably will be snow. I would not let this interefere with your plans, but pack accordingly. . .also makes a good excuse for drinking mulled wine. . .The city will be lit up for Christmas and there will be Christmas fares in the various squares, so it will be fun.
Can't advise you about airfares as the system by which fares are determined continues to be a mystery to me. My favourite game when flying is to ask the person next to me how much he/she paid. . . but start looking now and wait for advice from other on this site.

I suspect you've already asked your girlfriend if December is a "good time to go" so you really don't need any other answers to THAT question. If you want to know what the price of traveling to Prague is I would check now on Expedia, Travelocity, etc., although there may be some fare sales later on. I'm not sure Prague is a city that most folks think of to travel to from the US in December or for the holidays so there may not be a bump up in prices as there is to places like London.
I was in Prague last November...chilly enough to wear a down-filled jacket but certainly not miserable...December may not be as pleasant. If you haven't been to Prague and can afford to do so, girlfriend or not, I would...its a wonderful city.

Have to agree: Prague is a great city, anytime of the year.
We were there in November, 2001 and although it was cold (around 32F), it was really quite pleasant. We're from Pennsylvania and it gets colder here, but we don't get much sun in winter, where the sun was out every day while in Prague. The snow, river and blue skies make for some great photos.
We had a great airfare, so I can imagine that you will likely find a good one. We flew Czech Airlines and I have to admit, the aircraft and the service exceeded any American airline that I've ever flown and that has to be most of them.
If it's cold, you'll just have to keep each other warm

^ Last poster....yeah..we already went through the whole "keep each other warm" talk.
She said it was very cold in Dec. but 32 degrees I can easily handle. She made it sound like it was to unbearable to go outside...but I can take it. Thanks for the advice..It all sounds positive.
