Dressing warmly in Prague

I'm going to Prague in mid December and I realize it will be cold. I have a full length fur coat that has always kept me warm despite low temperatures. Would it be inappropriate to wear a fur coat while touring Prague both during day and at night? For example, I have no problem wearing my coat during the day in New York City, but don't wear it during the day in a smaller city. And please, no lectures if you're an anti-fur person- that is your opinion which is fine.

I'm not exactly sure what it is about "a smaller city" that prompts you not to wear your fur coat but for Prague I think you might want to leave it behind.

Sorry the "lectures" get to you but when you wear fur....

Is Prague an anti-fur place? Certainly in Venice and Rome, among other European cities, women wear full-length furs all the time.

Duck: Don't know about December, but all I can tell you that aside from past later spring and early fall visits, one time we were in Prague during early March...honestly can't remember being so cold anywhere, even beyond the Arctic Circle in Norway...freeeezzzing.
No place to check the actual temps, but I estimate that wind-chill had to be at zero.

There were plenty of fur coats all around, including some men!

I would bring the fur. Plenty of people will be wearing the same. I think there are some anti-fur activists there, but that area of Europe sees a lot of fur, so you won't have a hard time. In fact, it's probably better to wear the coat all day, so it is not left unattended in the hotel.
