No, sorry, and I thought you meant it's for a hotel for 7 days at first. Also Prague 2 is a bit out of the way-Prague 1 is more central. There are many other posts with great well-recommended hotels in Prague that maybe you should look into. Sometimes it is best to stick with hotels recommended by others who have stayed there already.

I'm planning on staying at a hotel called Hotel Constans which is halfway between the castle and Old Town. Very reasonable rates. Do a search in the text search box typing "Prague and Hotels". There is a pension called Dietzenhoffer that's well regarded, also Hotel Neruda is modern and nice also.

Try www.avetravel.cz for good info on hotels--might have that one listed. We stayed in Prague 2 and were right behind the Muzeum Metro & Wenceslas Square.

The seven days is a brand new hotel, it is in a fine location on the SE edge of the historical center, a 3 minute walk from Wencelas square

judi1, we stayed at Penzion Balbin, which is a couple of blocks from the Muzeum Metro and Wenceslas Square. It is on the top floors of an apartment building and was quiet with parking on street. Praha 1 is, I think, near the castle so more expensive but convenience-wise, we were a 5-10 minute walk to just about anywhere we wanted to go. I don't know the street your hotel is on so can't comment on the location, but Praha 2 is not out of the way.

Thanks for all your responses. I just got a very good rate from the Hotel Constans and I think I will book it. I have seen it mentioned on this site several times.

FYI Prague 1 is a much bigger area than around the castle -- it is basically the entire central district including both sides of the river -- roughly Mala Strana and Old Town and the Jewish Quarter. New Town (Nove Mesto) is the part of Prague just beyond Old Town on that side of the river, and parts of it are still Prague 1 and other parts Prague 2. I don't know the exact boundaries of it, but Zitna isn't too far away, as others mentioned, so should be fine.

I just stayed 3 doors down from that hotel, at the Bohemia Plaza Residence (an international business residence)at 50 Zitna. 7 Days is spanking brand new. The location is convenient -2 minute walk to Museum/Wenceslas Square. Hotel looked very nice, and I could see the bar from the street - very cozy & classy place. Only downside is that there is a firestation right next door!!! (On Mezibranska) Every morning at 7:15, the alarms go off!! Ask for a room that is as far away from the station as possible (maybe facing an inner courtyard, etc). Let us know how it works out, because I'm curious to hear what the hotel's like. Have a great trip to Prague!!
