Portugal/Lisbon apartment rental agencies
Hello,
I will be traveling to Portugal this Fall. If possible I would like to stay in apartments for a majority of the trip. I came across the Owners Direct agency. Has anyone used this firm? Are they reputable? Any suggestions on agencies?
Thank you

Hi, I can second happytrvlr's suggestion. I stayed in one of their apartments this past June and was very pleased with both the accomodation, and the hosts. Click on my screen name for my trip report which includes some pictures of the apartment. pp

I use owners direct quite often for holiday rentals myself, and as others have said, you are dealing direct with the property owner - that's why the prices are lower than the corporate equivalent. I've never had a bad experience myself but it is important that you ask questions and exchange correspondence with the owner before booking to ensure you are happy that they seem reliable.

In Lisbon, I used VRBO and stayed in a sunny, cheerful apartment in a great part of town (the same one Sher stayed in, I believe...)
In Coimbra, up north, I stayed in a Relais et Chateaux called Quintas das Lagrimas. Beautiful hotel with a Michelin one-star restaurant.

This will be our first visit to Lisbon and we plan on staying 10 nights in late October. I have been looking at apartments for 2, and the majority do not have elevator access and this is important for my husband.
I have my eye in this one, but would really like some input about the best areas for walking, eating and sightseeing would be.

There is an elevator after the first dozen steps up which is fine.
thanks

Hi. We have rented an apartment in Lisbon before as I mentioned.
Another good agency is www.travelingtolisbon.com. They have apartments all over the city and in my experience will go out of their way to try to find you something appropriate.
