Dear Ms Sarah

The two rooms, a double and a single with private bathroom that you requested for the nights of 19, 20 October are available.

The price of each single room is 45 euro/night

Please send the confirmation....or basically "please let us know if you want it, thanks"

After ms stella writes her name, the rest is an ad for a telecommunications company.

Thank you, thank you! That was quick! I am downloading Babylon translator, but that will take half an hour to finish.

I was pretty sure about most of the words, but I don't like to leave any uncertainties where reservations are concerned. I emailed two convents in Orvieto last night, and I am pleased to have heard back from both of them. We have discovered what a great resource staying in a convent is- usually both cheaper and more pleasant than many hotels.

"Vorrei confermare la prenotazione per le due camere."

"I'd like to confirm the reservation for the two rooms."

I assumed Sr in this case was short for "Suor" Maria Stella since it is a convent.

I assumed that Sr. meant sister, also. I know that is how the sisters at Fraterna Domus signed their emails, and I know they were called Sister ---- because I've met them.

Babelfish......for all your translation requirements...I wouldn't use it to draft a middle east peace accord, but for emails confirmations !

I think viajero was just thinking this was in Spanish, not Italian.

Not a chance Christina-- I read, write, and speak Spanish fluently, so no confusing Spanish with Italian here . I just referred back to the e-mail signed by the nice gentleman from Hotel Forte dated Dec 2000 and signed Sr. Franco. Maybe, he was no gentleman....

You have us thoroughly confused, viajero...

There seems to be no reconciling your first reply with your second.

Best wishes,

Rex
