Please help- Economy hotel in Pantheon area?

Hello there. I really need input on a hotel in the Pantheon area of Rome. I need to pay $100-$130USD for a single. I have specified this particular area only because this is my first trip to Rome and I understand that this area is midway between the Colesseum, the Vatican, and Spanish steps. Any reccomendations for accomodations in my price range from any one?

Thanks,
Linda

Linda, on the advice on others I have booked at the Residenza Zanardelli for my October trip. It is located very near the Pantheon. The Hotel Navona is owned by the same people and is also near. The Zanardelli only has 7 rooms and is in your price range. I have in the past stayed at the Hotel
Parliamento, which is near the Spanish Steps, and can highly recommend this hotel. There is a website for Hotel Navona and the Residenza Zanardelli.

Nancy, I will be in Rome in late October, so cannot give my personal opinion yet. However, go to the Slow Travelers website, search for Residenza Zanardelli and read a review there. It is on a small street behind the Piazza
Navona. I believe the hotel's website
shows a map of the area.

Nancy -- The Residenza Zanardelli is just north of Piazza Navona. I stayed there in June of 2001 and it was great. Have you looked at their web site?

http://www.hotelnavona.com/English/Zanardelli.htm

They tend to book up quickly so put your request in ASAP.

Mike
