Passport Arrives in Under 30 Days! (But where's the old passport?)

I just got my new passport, the application for which was sent in on August 8. This was processed with standard (non-expedited processing.)

But I thought my old passport would be returned with holes punched in it. It is a valuable souvenir. Any advice?

Hey you got your passport already! I sent mine in (to Delaware address) expedited service for name change (married name) on August 3rd, and still no sign. Inquired twice, and no banana. I wonder why you didnt get your old one back........

You will get your old passport in a few days. They send it separately.

sshephard,

That is good news. I am considering getting a new passport and don't know whether to use the expensive expedited service or not. If you don't mind, which office issued your passport and which state do you live in?

I received my passport in mid July, along with my old passport and the second photo I had provided with the renewal. It was stapled inside my old passport. What service Deborah

I have always gotten my old one back. It's mailed separately. 6 weeks ago I got my daughter's renewed passport ( after 16 weeks!) and her old passport arrived the next day.

I mailed the application to Philadelphia and the return address on the envelope I received says Charleston. I live in South Dakota.

I got my renewed one and the old one together. Seems there are three possibilities...get renewed and old together, get new and then old later or get new and don't get old. I wonder what determines which options you get?

I got my old one back with my new one, but I put a request for it back,in writing, when I mailed mine in for renewal (and that was two years ago).

My daughter didn't request hers back, but it came with the new one (same package) in April.

My husband just sent his in for renewal two weeks ago and didn't make the request, but I sure hope his original comes back! By the way, last week we received the post card saying it was received and to track the processing online. To date, however, the online site isn't showing it in the system.
