My passport expires this year so I need to apply for a new one. In the last ten years we traveled all over the world and I have a number of very unique and interesting stamps in it. Memories!!! Do I get your old passport back with a new one or it is gone for good?
I cannot seem to find any information about it on the official website but at least I learned I could apply for the thicker 48-pages passport for no additional fee.

If you enclose a note that you want it back, they will include it when they send your new one.

Yes you get your old passport back, they punch holes in it, at least they did when I renewed several years ago.

Yes. I have four old ones. It's so fun now to look at my old passport photos. My kids can't believe how long my hair was and how much I look like them!

Pat..I renewed in April and the old passport was "Cancelled" but enclosed with the new one.

Pat...Pics, too....This is only my second passport....But over Christmas, I visited with my TA in Dallas, and he pulled out his old passports, I think maybe 4 or 5......The pics are great...The HAIR, the glasses!! whooohooo, made for a fun evening...Oh and that green leisure suit from K-Mart!OMG, if he had just held onto to that one...But back in the Dark Ages who woulda thunk about E-Bay!!

Yes, you get the old one back with a hole or two punched thru it (or at least I always have).
