You can just reserve a taxi and pay about half the cost of a private shuttle. Your hotel can help do this. We have used Taxi Bleu several times without problem. The phone - and they have agents who speak English - is 01 49.36.29.48

I think that a taxi is your best bet.If you are leaving early in the morning then have your hotel prearrange for you at the hour you want. We just took a taxi from our hotel by Montparnesse to CDG with 3 people and lots of luggage(they do charge for each piece) and it was less than 50 euros with tip(It was 3 weeks ago and I believe I paid 37 euros without the tip). The cabbie gave us a rough estimate before we left hotel .

that's true, no service is perfect, it seems. A lot of folks like Intur private shuttle on here, but they have left some people without showing up, so they don't have a 100 pct perfect rate.
I don't know why the OP wants a private shuttle rather than taxi, either. I know shuttles can be cheaper if they are group, but private ones aren't cheaper than a taxi. That shuttle Intur rate is pretty good, though, I admit (I think it's around 55 euro), as it's only a little more than a taxi and you don't have to worry about any traffic delays, if that is the issue (in reality, I've been in traffic delays and still never had a 55 euro taxi fare, but some people fear that).

I haven't had any problems with www.airport-connection not showing up. They've either been right on time or early. They picked me up, last month at my rented apartment, at 6:50AM and I got to the airport with plenty of time left to catch my flight. There was a couple in the shuttle already when they picked me up and there was one other quick pick up.
In August 2009, they arrived early to my friend's apartment and there was a couple already in the shuttle and no other pick ups and in April 2008, they showed up, to my rented apartment, right on time and although I paid for a shared shuttle, there was no one else in it but me, so I got a private shuttle at shared shuttle price.
I've also taken them from CDG into Paris. And their price is very good. When one books with them, they suggest a pick up time, and then I just click on the area where I can have either a 30-minute or 45-minute earlier pick up time depending on the time of day. Happy Travels!

I would not use Shuttle Inter again. We used them last summer and our experience was not good. They were not there upon arrival. Finally after several phone calls they showed up. We reconfirmed our departure with the driver, as well as an email confirmation during the week. Yet, they did not show up at all. Good thing I allowed enough extra time and we hoofed it to the taxi stand and made our flight in time.

I have used Shuttle-Iter for years with excellent service. They also picked me up at my apartment and took me to Gare de Lyon for a short trip down to Avignon for a few days and met me at Gare de Lyon upon return. I will continue to use them on all my trips. Nice people to work with.

The OP does not say how many persons. If it is at least two, then a taxi is at least close to a "wash" with a shuttle and much better.
Friends who go to Paris often have recommend the "blue" taxi/shuttle.

Ill repeat a comment I made on another "shuttle" thread.
My husband and I found this company, (Shuttle-Inter), to be unreliable and would never consider using them again.
Due to the many positive experiences detailed on this website, we decided to give Shuttle-Inter a try on a recent trip to Paris, (late March into April).
After emailing the company, I received prompt confirmations for our transportation from CDG to Paris and back again on departure day. A couple of days before we left for Paris, I emailed again to re-confirm everything but never heard back from them. We weren't too concerned because it has always been easy to get a taxi at CDG. If no one showed up, we had nothing to lose.
The airport was absolutely mobbed when we arrived, (lots of high school & college students on spring break), and there were an extraordinary number of drivers holding up signs. We finally spotted "our" sign, and the driver immediately took care of pushing the luggage cart out to the car, loaded everything up and we enjoyed a peaceful ride into rainy Paris. While being met by someone holding a sign isn't important to us, it was very nice to have help with the bags and know a car was waiting there for us, especially after traveling for almost 24 hours. We decided we were glad we tried Shuttle-Inter.
After unloading our bags at the hotel, our driver assured us that he would return for us at 8am on the morning of our departure.
You can probably guess what happened.
No one from Shuttle-Inter showed up. After waiting for well over an hour, our hotel called a taxi to take us to the airport. We encountered a lot of traffic on the way, which was stressful, because we had already lost over an hour of time before our flight as it was. Fortunately, everything turned out fine, time-wise, but you never know how busy the airport will be and worrying about whether your ride will show up isn't a good way to start the trip home!
By the way, we emailed the company days before our departure date to re-confirm, and, as before the trip, received no response.
We then asked our hotel to call Shuttle-Inter for us to re-confirm. No one answered the phone, so our hotel left a message. We decided to have faith - surely this highly lauded company would send someone to pick us up as promised. If not, we would ask the hotel to call a taxi for us.
The morning of our departure, when we had waited almost 30 minutes with no sign of anyone from Shuttle-Inter, we asked the hotel to call the company for us. No one answered the first time, so a message was left. The second time, ( a few minutes later), someone did answer, the confirmation information was provided yet again, and our hotel was told that the driver was on his way.
Another 30 minutes went by. No driver appeared. The hotel called again. No one answered. The hotel manager informed Shuttle-Inter that we would be taking a taxi to the airport.
We then had to wait for the taxi. Needless to say, we had plenty of time to change our opinion of this company.
I have heard nothing from Shuttle-Inter, by the way. No apology for abandoning us and for telling our hotel someone would be right there. Not too reputable, in my opinion.
Calling a taxi is probably the most reliable way to get to & from the airport.

I think a taxi is more foolproof if you really want reliability, because they will come when they are called. I can't imagine why anyone would book a private shuttle to go from Gare de Lyon to an apt. which I'm sure is in the 7th. I think GraceJoan just has very unusual preferences and likes to travel and live on the high side and can't imagine using anything quasi-public, which includes a taxi.

Christina,
I happened to ask my shuttle driver from the airport if they did around town items like the Gare de Lyon. He assured me that they did. That was simpler than my calling another taxi company. I just made my reservations with them..it worked out well. A taxi is a taxi and they have served me well, why change..I wouldn't call it living on the high side, but quite public use. Not interested in doing the metro or bus with luggage!

Well I don't know about the "high side" but I tend to like to travel like Joan. I will be new to Paris in 2011 and even though I like using public transportation after I get settled in...I will use a private shuttle from CDG just because I think it will be less stressful. When travelling to China and on business trips I like seeing someone holding a sign with my name. For me it works better. Not the only way to go but it is my preference.

DaveMM,
I do enjoy seeing that sign with my name on it when exiting security! There are many ways to do it and I'm all for everyone finding what works best for them.
I was glad to easily make the arrangements to/from Gare de Lyon for my TGV trip, too. It was no different than any other taxi..I don't share them, either. Worked out to be very convenient. I don't call it "high side" taking a taxi to Gare de Lyon with luggage! This service has been perfect for me, so would not even think of changing.
