Will be in Paris July 2012. Looking place to stay 19-21. Looking for a place close to most Paris attractions. Also, any restaurant you guys might recommend. Thank you kindly for your advice..

Use the search box above to search for "Paris hotels" and "Paris Restaurants". We don't know enough about your budget, your travel party, your interests, your food preferences, etc., to make recommendations. It's getting late so you need to make reservations soon.

You do need to secure a room ASAP. We like Hotel Louis Ii for its proximity to the Odeon metro station and many bus lines. Easy walk to many popular sites, lots of restaurants and cafes in the area. Not sure of your budget...searching the site for hotels will get you more info.

For us to help you need to tell us:

1) how many and who you are - and i fyou need more than one double bed

2) budget for hotel

3)budget for restaurant - and what you expect (a charming local bistro or a 3* experience)

Also - Paris is a large, spread out city. No hotel is close to all major sights. The Metro will be your friend. And with only 3 days - and is it 3 full days or 2.5? - you can't begin to see all the sights anyway.

Guys, thank you kindly for your swift responses. Am a first time international traveler and as you can see have no idea what i am doing.

* Was planning to do Paris-Barcelona-Valencia-Madrid from July 19-29. But from the looks of it, it would be better to do 2-3 cities.
* Am considering doing only Paris (19-24) and Madrid (25-29). There are two of us traveling (save for 23-24, buddy has school).
* Budget for hotel/hostel is $100 a day; would not mind paying $150 for a good view of city.
* Thinking of staying in 2 places in Paris (hotel/hostel); left bank and right bank and focus on their perspective attractions at each stay.
* Budget for restaurant are ~$25-50 per meal.
You have no idea how much your help is appreciated.

just a couple of very quick comments. It makes no sense what-so-ever to change hotels mid way through such a short stay. Packing/checking out/checking in will eat up nearly half a day.Pick one place and stay put.

Your new plan of just Paris and Barcelona is much better.

You have waited VERY late to find good €80 hotel rooms.

Look at Hotel De la Place du Louvre, it is on the right bank, but only 1/2 block from the Seine river and you can just walk right across the Pont Neuf and be in the Latin Quarter in minutes. You are beside the Louvre, but on a quiet side street. Do be sure to ask for a regular room, not the "duplex" rooms.. they have two levels and the bathrooms are up steep steps. The regular rooms are nice though. It has airconditioning and a small mini fridge in the room. Staff are very nice.
