I am trying to decide on a hotel in the 6th district and need some help. I am looking at Residence des Arts (studio room), Hotel Left Bank Saint Germain, or Hotel Au Manoir. Any opinions or other recommendations in this area is greatly appreciated.<BR><BR>Thanks!

I wouldn't go for the Residence des Arts studio as it may be too small unless it's only for yourself. All three are nice hotels though.

What is your budget?

My budget is flexible. I am willing to pay a little over $200 maybe more, but it would have to be worth it. If there is very little difference in the hotel, I will choose the cheapest. Location is the most important attribute, but I do not want the roach motel either.<BR><BR>There will be 2 of us also. The Hotel Au Manoir quoted me a price of 220Euro for a Double Superior w/breakfast. THe Residence des Arts came in at 180 for a studio, which I have read is very small. Still waiting on the Left Bank.

We stayed at Hotel Left Bank 2 years ago. My daughter this past spring.<BR><BR>I think the rates may have increased substantially.<BR><BR>I would definitely stay there again. Nice hotel very good location.<BR><BR>It's (or was) a Best Western. Check their web wite. At the time I actually got a lower rate through BW than from them directly.<BR><BR>Also, they nickel and dimed a little.<BR><BR>When my daughter stayed there they thought the room was very small. They saw larger ones walking down the hall. Asked for another but were in a hurry to meet a restaurant reservation.<BR><BR>When they returned all of their belongings had been move to a larger room. Everything was placed in an equivalent location in the new room. They hadn't even packed.<BR><BR>

Have you tried the Artus(formerly called the Buci Latin). Fabulous!. Has also gotten very high ratings on Fodors hotel Paris listing.

We stayed at Hotel Left Bank S. G., several years ago for two weeks. We had superior rooms that have an extra day bed which worked for the two of us as a place to put our luggage as there was nowhere else in the room to unpack -- no drawers and a very small closet. The rooms are beautifully done with walls upholstered in colorful toile print fabrics and have exposed beams. The baths are large, modern, and even had glass partitions for the shower in the tub to help prevent flooding (not too common in Paris). The only real complaints I had with the rooms were that the superior rooms are all on the back of the hotel and are extremely dark. First we were on the gound or first floor (I forget which) and it was extremely dark. After a couple of days they moved us up several floors so it was slightly less dark, but still those rooms all face into a tiny enclosed &quot;courtyand&quot;. Also we could not control the air condidtioning in either room. We were there in July and nearly froze to death -- the air was numbing cold. We never had breakfast there -- too many neat little cafes and bakeries in the neighborhood. But as you know it is a great location.

Hi, I believe the Res. des Arts has a sister hotel that just opened up across the street from them called Villa d'Estrees. It's supposedly similar to Res. des Arts.<BR><BR>Have you considered Relais St. Germain, Le Madison, or Hotel d'Aubusson? All of their rates are a bit above 200 euro. Le Madison includes breakfast in the rates.<BR><BR>Whatever hotel you choose be sure to inform the hotel of the type of room you want. Ask questions about the type of rooms they have, the size of the rooms, etc.

The Buci Latin is no more?!!
