Paris, hotel Daunou Opera

Does anyone here know it personally?
there are two drastically different reviews at tripadvisor.com, and no personal comments here at fodors. Location is excellent.

I have no complaints at all, stayed there 2 yrs ago and was pleased with it. Rooms had been renovated, really clean and confortable. Breakfast was nice and location is excellent.

I mentioned it in that other post. It was just a place I found that looked okay in a price range someone was looking for that was within a block or two of the opera. There are several hotels on that street or around there that could be just as good -- Choiseul Opera and Richmond Opera. I am not that picky about a place where I am only staying one or two nights and have selected mainly due to its location.

However, I just read those comments on tripadvisor and thought -- yikes! this sounds pretty disgusting. They seem pretty clear on the hotel, but I've never read anything like that about it elsewhere. There is one good comment on www.paris.org/Hotels about it, also, someone thought it great --- those posts aren't dated, unfortunately.

My god...I'm not sure I would have go there with what is said about this hotel!!!But who knows...that's strange because the comments looks so different!!
Not far away from Opéra, there is an hotel from a chain, the Timhotel Palais Royal that looks nice. I never go to this one but I know other Timhotel and I had been satisfied by what they offered..They have a website: www.h-palais-royal.com.
Have a good trip!!

I just can't get over that one tripadvisor review, I think I won't be the fodors pioneer on this one.
thanks all
