Paris Hotel choices

I've been researching Paris Hotels which are both close to tourist areas, and not terribly expensive.

Based on some online reviews I have read, I have narrowed it down to 3. I would appreciate if anyone had comments on any of these. I'm trying to finalize plans soon. Each I think is about 75 Euros a night for a double room.

1 - Hotel Champ de Mars (near the Eiffel Tower)
2- Hotel de Grandes Ecoles (Latin Quarter)
3- Grand Hotel Leveque (near the Eiffel Tower)

Again, each of these has received good reviews at many sites I have visited, and was hoping for some further comments or reviews.

I can give a very, very strong endorsement of Grandes Ecoles. We were there for two weeks in May and loved it. However, your price is low. The rates in May ranged from 95 to 120 euro. It was well worth it!

Hi Alex,

I just returned from Europe, and I stayed at the Comfort Hotel Andre Latin
in the Latin Quarter(5the district). The hotel is very clean, and resonable at a cost of 82.50 Euro's per night for 2 adults. If you need any more info, let me know.

Lawrence

I've stayed at the Champs de Mars and at the Leveque. Would not return to the Champs de Mars if I had other choices; attitude of the staff was not pleasant and the rooms were miniscule, even by Paris standards. There was literally no room to walk around the beds in our room. I think the Leveque is a great bargain and would stay there again in a heartbeat. The rooms at the front may be noisy in the early morning. It's a great budget hotel--not a lot of ambience, but it was comfortable. I like the Muguet best of the three. Both the Champs de Mars and the Leveque are well-located, near rue Cler. Book way ahead for any of these three hotels.

Definitely second Betsy on the Muguet, but it is more than $75/double. If you do find good recs for any hotel near the Eiffel Tower that charges less than $75/double, you have find yourself a gem.
