Orvieto - Underground or St Patricks Well

Has anyone done the Orvieto underground tour and would you recommend it? My kids are 7 and 9 years old. I didn't think they would want to tour both the well and the underground, so I'm hoping someone would have recommendations. It seems like there is more to see on the underground tour but maybe more isn't better.

Hi Jean,

We looked down into the well, but didn't pay to go down the whole way. We were kind of satisfied with the look.

We did do the English speaking tour of the underground and found it fascinating. There were some kids in our group and they seemed to have the usual attention span of kids.....as I remember they were about that age.

I think it might dependo n whether your kids are good on tours being quiet while someone talks, or would rather burn energy going up and down a zillion spiral stairs!

The well is not a tour. You pay your money and just walk down the steps and back up.

I think they would find the underground tour more interesting.

We took our kids on both. Personally my kids liked the well more as they were able to be free and run up and down the many, many stairs. We got there just as it opened and were the only ones in it.

The kids also liked the underground tour but not as much. I would still recommend doing both since both are fairly reasonable.
