Opinions on short break to Tunis
We are considering 4 days in Tunis in November. The hotel in the deal is the 5* Corinthian which is on the coast - 18 km from Tunis. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who's been to Tunis as it's unknown territory to us.

20 years ago I worked there for three months in summer, and 5 years ago I went with a friend on a week s visit. I suggest you seek a hotel in central Tunis, whether 5 star or 3, so that you can stroll around town or take short trips to, for example, the Bardot Museum and Sidi Bou Said.
Tunis is a delightful mix of Islam and the French way of life, with pavement cafes, copies of Le Monde, and all that any provincial town of France can offer, plus the wealth of history from Carthaginians via Romans to the great days of Islam.

I was in Tunisia during Ramadam last year, some restaurants did close during daytime, but everything else was more or less the same. In the evening, streets were crowded with people: shopping, eating,or just strolling around till midnight. It was great fun.
