One night in Pisa: hotel and transportation to Florence

I am flying from Paris to Pisa on EastJet and arrive in Pisa at night. Rather than travel to my ultimate destination (Florence) that night, I am thinking of spending a night in Pisa, and them traveling to Florence the next morning.
Any hotel suggestions for a woman traveling alone?
Does anyone know the best way to get from Pisa (airport or city) to Florence hotel?

Thanks!

There's a train at the Pisa Airport that goes either directly to Florence. For some you might have to switch to another train at Pisa Centrale to reach Florence. The ride from Pisa to Florence is about an hour.

Sorry, I don't know an Pisa hotels.

A couple of years ago I needed to stay in Pisa the night before a flight out. Hotel Terminus was very near the train station and, as I recall, only a short cab ride from the airport. Not a particularly memorable hotel, but it was certainly more than adequate for my needs.

Hi B,

What time do you arrive in Pisa?

Back in 2003, my wife and I stayed at the Hotel Amalfitana (http://www.dormireintoscana.it/Amalfitana/enindex.htm). on the recommendation of a friend from Pisa. It was north of the river, but the cab ride to the airport was <10 minutes (and the train statioon should be a bit closer). It wasn't anything special, but was perfectly adequate (at EUR 65). If you're not arriving too late, it's only a short walk to the Piazza dei Miracoli.

Enjoy yuor trip,
Paul
