Not impressed with Milan?

A.s a flight attendant with a major airline-Milan is not one of the popular trips for our layovers!
That said-I studied French and Italian Art one semester in college and Milan is STILL one of my least favorite cities in Italy.
I would vote for Turin and the Piedmont area(think Asti wine,etc.) if you don't want to go all the way to Liguria. But as others have said above me,why not just stay and enjoy the pleasures of France on this trip rather than trying to do two trips with just a week? Have fun!
