need advice on driving from Milan to Monte Carlo

Has anyone ever taken this route? How is the road condition--highway, country road, flat, hilly? How long will it take without stopping? Thanks.

Did the reverse in a mini bus in 2000, the road follows the coast so is a bit winding in places but a very good road, plenty of tunnels to straighten the trip out, and nearly all towns bypassed. Once you get away from the coast in Italy the driving is easy. I remember that there are some intriguing looking small coastal villages that could have been worth a stop sometime.

Hi IL,

Go to www.viamichelin.com for driving routes and directions.

The scenic roads are highlighted in green.

hi- we've done this trip a couple times. sorry we don't remember how long it took b/c we stopped a couple places.

it is an okay easy drive (relative to, say cinque terre. but then we wouldn't ever drive there again) it's pretty flat, not hilly. but as with most italian highways it's higher up. the road condition is really pretty good.

ttt - - every time someone types these three letters (or anything, xyz... or the entire Gettysburg address) - - brings this posting back up "to the top" (in the lefthand column) and brings it back into visibility, when it would otherwise languish with no further attention... many, many "pages" down from the most recent postings.

Best wishes,

Rex
