Naples to Positano

Hi everyone. My wife and I are flying into Naples in two weeks and haven't decided how we are getting from the airport to our hotel in Positano yet (Hotel Marincato). I'd appreciate any suggestions on best ways/thoughts? I'm a little leary of paying for a driver as the costs seem pretty pricey, but I'm open to ideas.

Also, any thoughts on will we have trouble getting on the ferry from positano to Capri since there is only one per day in the morning?

thanks!

A little pricey, yes, but easy, comfortable, and dependable. You can get a taxi to the port and hope you make a ferry or there's no strike on the dock. Or, you can get a bus from the airport to your destination.
You could take a taxi to Napoli Centrale, get on the Circumvesuviana to Sorrento, and get a bus there to Positano.
I've done it several ways, but since using a driver, that is the only way for me in the future.
After a flight or long train ride I don't want to hassle with anything. I want to throw my luggage in the back of the minivan, sit down, and enjoy the 90 minute ride to our hotel. For me it's some of the best money spent in Italy.
We use DriveAmalfi. Costs about 110 Euros. Lack of hassle is worth money to me, especially when you compare it to the cost of the whole trip.

Hi JP - Another public transport option is bus via Sorrento.

The Airport Shuttle bus (- operator: Curreri) direct to Sorrento takes about 75 mins.

Deps at: 09.00 - 11.30 - 13.00 - 14.30 - 16.30 - 19.30

Fare: €7.00 approx
www.bus.it/curreri/autolineee.htm

From Sorrento you can take the SITA bus to Positano (- 45 mins/ € 1.50 approx.)

If you prefer a limo transfer, the following have all been recommended here:

www.benvenutolimos.com

www.tourofitaly.com
www.francescomarrapese.com

www.cuomonet.it
www.seesorrento.com
www.sorrento.it

Expect to pay €100-120

Hope this helps ...

Steve

P.S. You can book the Positano-Capri ferry a day in advance if you wish.
