My scheduled flight to Vienna, next Thursday 19 Dec 2002. Want to stay until 29 Dec 2002 in Austria, however just find out that my visa valid for stay only until 26 Dec. Must I apply extension at Immigration Office in Airport Arrival Gate? I really don't want to change my trip itinerary. Give me your suggestion how to get more days staying permit. <BR>Many thanks for all advise.

What nation are you traveling from?

A visa is permission to enter a country.Before you enter the country,you will have to have your current visa modified.Therefore,you either have to go back to the source of the visa which you have now and go thru the same procedures you did to get the visa in the first place or go to the embassy/consulate/diplomatic mission of Austria closest to your current location.If you are flying in,you will onot be allowed to board your plane until you have met all requirements for entry.If you dont want to do that,then go back to the original plane and change your itinerary after your arrival into Austria.It is not as complicated as it may sound.<BR>R

I'm Indonesian. Will fly from Kuala Lumpur. I have visa in my hand to enter Austria, however need more days for staying than date indicate in permit. Can I ask this extension when arrival?

Krissant, NO you can not get a visa extension at the airport in Vienna. You need to go to an Austrian Embassy or Consulate before you travel. Selamat jalan!
