When you arrived in Santorini, which hotel looked amazing to you?
Thanks

Hello - Rocabella hotel caught my eye on the road between Fira and Oia. I think I noticed some cabanas or something. Here is the website:

Having said that, I just checked TripAdvisor and it gets very mixed reviews... It did look nice from the road tho!

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for hotels in Santorini. Sine we are visiting during slow season and I have 2 teenagers with me, I am looking for a nice hotel with great views and right in the middle of the center and there is enough life and activity going on(keeping my boys in mind). Thank you in advance.

I second the recommendation of Esperas for Santorini. I would also recommend you request a room with a *private* terrace.

Oia is much more scenic then Thira, but I suspect there is less to do in Oia. You could rent a car or scooters and explore Santorini from either location. Esperas does have beautiful views and nice rooms, but its not in the middle or center of Oia. It's down on the tip and about a 5 minute walk into the main part of the village. There were many hotels right on the main walkway. We did not see any children staying at Esperas while we were there. Since you said you will be there with your sons, if you're interested in staying at Esperas you might want to check to ensure that its kid friendly.

There were families with teenagers at Esperas during our stay.

Good point, Yestravel. I remember at one time seeing a disclaimer on the Esperas website that, due to their position on the cliff, children under the age of 12 (or 10?) were not permitted. Would be a wise move to confirm directly with the hotel.

What about Lava Oia Traditional Houses? Brotherleelove2004 recommends them quite a lot, and they really did look amazing.
