Munich Airport
I need to get from Munich to Plzen or Karlovy Vary in Czech Republic. Is there a train stop at the Munich airport, or do I need to go to downtown Munich? I will be arriving to Munich at 9:00 am. Thank you.

You can search connections here: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?rt=1&

You will need to take the local S-Bahn (both S-1 and S-8 operate out of the airport) to the main rail station or perhaps Munich East to catch your train, assuming you are going the entire trip by rail.

Thank you both. I will be landing in Munich at 9am and there seems to be a train from the main train station to Plzen at 1:00pm and requires only one change in Nurnberg. But, I have only 8 minutes to change trains. Is it doable? Also, the schedule says ‘Connection is in the past’. I do not know what it means?
I could also take a bus/train to Regensburg, overnight there and then go to Plzen either by renting a car or taking a train.

"Connection is in the past" normally means you did not put in a future date so check that.
Nuremberg is a fairly large station but they normally make the connections reasonable so the tracks are likely close by. You can look at the details for the connection and see the track numbers which should help.
Packing light would also be to your advantage with train travel, especially connections.
Regensburg IMO is delightful and would make a very nice overnight stop. The center is compact and the pedestrian area very nice.

Petunka, DO NOT take the S-Bahn to downtown, but take bus #635 outside area Z, which will take you in 18min to Freising station. Freising is a stop on the train line to CZ. It'll save lots of time.

Tank you, Freising makes sense even if I decide to go Regensburg for one night or go directly to Plzen. I have also seen a bus by 'student agency' leaving from the Munich Airport to Plzen-Prague but it operates only on Fridays. Again, thank you.
