Moscow Sheremetyevo-2 Airport

Arriving Moscow in July. What can we expect regarding Passport/Immigration procedure?? Will we have a problem with taxi service to Central Moscow? Advice, please !

There will be a line down a set of stairs to passport control. No problem here, but make sure you have all the paperwork given to you on the plane filled out.
Then collect baggage and go through customs---pick either "nothing to declare" or "something to declare"
Taxis can be a challange. Everything can be a negotiation. Since I could not be sure I had my hotel quote me a flat price for a car pick-up ($100).

A Russian would be charged about $35-40. You can ask one of thr taxi drivers for a flat price to your hotel, then offer him something a little lower. If he's stubborn you may have to take his price. It depends somewhat on how crowded it is at the time.
There are some web sites yhat offer a taxi booking for about $35-45,but the small print says they will charge you an equal amount for every 30 minutes beyond the time you are late.
Try your hotel concierge and if you dont like the response go with the best you can get at the airport.
But be sure to have a flat price settled before you get in the cab

Prebook your taxi before you go, should be around $45-50. See waytorussia.net

Thanks APLUSG. Hope when we arrive we are not stalled in a long line to clear customs.

I am an expat currently living in Moscow. The length of time at passport control is very unpredictable depending upon how many planes have arrived at the same time. Personally, even though it will be more expensive, I would book a car and driver through the hotel to pick you up.
