Milan for 2 nights

We will be in Milan only 2 days and would like to know a clean/inexpensive place to stay somewhat near the airport.

Which airport (Milan has more than one), and why do you wish to stay near the airport instead of closer to town? Flying out early at the end of a trip?

Which airport? Will you have a car?

I'm also interested in hotel suggestions, and near the airport. We're staying only one night before our 6:15 am flight from Malpensa to Malaga. We do plan on a day-trip to Milan during our time in Bellagio for just a quick taste, but there's no way that I'm going to stress out about making that flight from any hotel other than one near the airport.

Help!

I can't help with hotels but there is a shuttle bus from the main train station that runs about every 20 minutes to Malpensa so you do have options if you are carless. Don't blame you about worrying. Do check out above.

These days, I'd probably take the train from Milano Centrale to Malpensa instead of a bus...

My recollection of the bus was pretty grim: slow and circuitous route, though you do get to the terminal in time.

Shd you decide to stay in central Milan, the new train would be my choice -- as long at there is a train that allows you to catch that early a flight.

If leaving from Milano Centrale, a convenient nearby spot is the Residence de la Gare, an apt-hotel that sometimes has very good prices for advance bookings.
