Mayfair Intercontinental Hotel London Question
Years and Years ago we stayed at the Mayfair. Then it was a favorite of theater people and entertainers. It had a nice casual air and a wonderful high tea in the lobby every afternoon. It appears that it has since become a member of the Intercontinental chain. We booked in there in July again in the hopes that things have not changed too much. Has anybody stayed there recently? If so have you any comments and do they still serve high tea in the lobby.

We stayed at the Mayfair last September. It fully met our expectations. We had a very nice room. Service was excellent. Concierge was particularly helpful. Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed a pub lunch there one day. We didn't eat in the main dining room as we had several other London restaurants on our agenda. They did serve tea in the lobby in the afternood, but I don't know if you would call it high tea. We didn't partake as we were generally out and about. Hope that helps.

Louis, Stayed at the Mayfair I.C. April,2001. Great location, huge room. I have seen some good rates for this hotel at Intercontinental's website- www.interconti.com. The Mayfair I.C. is in my opinion the best located of the 3 I.C.'s in London. I don't remember tea in the lobby. We had a wonderful tea at Browns Hotel. Have a wonderful time!
