I watched a travel show years ago about a town in Italy that you park at the base of a bridge and walk the bridge to the town. Very lush and unique. I think it was not in the Cinque Terre but somewhere between Florence and Rome.

I wouldn't call it lush. There's not much happening there since there's only a handful of residents.

Civita is one of the Rick Steves backdoors places and all of the 14-15 permanent residents live off the tourists: there is a bar, B&B, art gallery, souvenir shop and all around calanchi, eroded hills which are quite spectral. Its 30 min. from where I live in an area full of magnificent Renaissance gardens, castles, hilltowns, medieval villages and Etruscan sites. If you do come to Northern Lazio, dont stop only at Civita. Very little about this area is out there on the internet, for this reason, kybourbon, I mention my cultural non-commercial website as a source of information for travelers. I could also mention Fodors guides and Dorling Kindersly Eyewitness Guide to Rome as I helped write them.
