london, paris hotel for 6
Will be traveling to London and Paris this August with myself, wife and four kids ages 19, 17, 15, 13. Looking for hotels on this site and trip advisor but many seem to sleep only two per room. Any recommendations on hotels that would accomodate 3-4 per room? Are cots typically available? Most double rooms seem to have 2 twin beds. Used to travelling in US with two full or Queen beds per room. Cost for each room per night no more than $250 to $300. Prefer lively neighborhoods, In US we usually like more modern like hotels "large convention like" rather than boutique. Near shops/restaurants(?Mayfair, Left Bank?) Thank you all in advance

first of all, DON'T ask for a "cot" since that is a baby crib in Brit-speak. I can just see the look on your 19 yo's face when he walks in the room and finds his bed is a crib
There are family room for 3 or 4 but they will usually be pretty cramped.
A better idea is to rent 3 bedroom, 1.5 or 2 bath apartments in both cities. They will be larger than 2 or 3 hotel rooms and cost less.

You can book 2 'triples' - one for parents and 13 yr old, and one for the oldest teens.
$250 is about 190€, roughly. It would be easy to get a triple in Paris for that.
Here is a list of hotels with triples that you might want to look into:
Hotel Delavigne
1 rue Casimir Delavigne 75006 Triple 150€

Hôtel Arley Tour Eiffel
34, rue Viala 75015 Triple room, view on the Eiffel Tower 159€

Hotel Saint Jacques
35 rue des Ecoles 75005 Triple 160€

Hôtel Louvre Marsollier Opéra
13, rue Marsollier 75002 Triples 180€

Hôtel Henri IV Rive Gauche
9 - 11, rue Saint-Jacques 75005 Triples 188€

While there are triples available at lots of hotels in both cities - especially in Paris the number of triples in any one property willl be limited. And they usually won't be connecting - nor even on the same floor.
That's one reason I recommended a 3 bdrm flat

www.hoteldulys.com has a triple. Great location for exploring both left and right banks.

Have you checked base2stay in London? They have triples, the hotel is nrand new, although no facilities as lobby, restaurant, brakfast room are available.
Base2Stay offers air conditioning, and bunk bedded rooms which are brand new and quite staylish. Check it out. It's about threee blocks from Gloucester Tube, and one or two from Earl's Court.
In Paris, check the Residence des Arts, and Hotel Residence Henry IV.
