London Hotels
I have been looking for reasonably priced hotels (need a triple) for this June! and have been confused/halted by the difference between the hotel pix and their self-description vs a few review sites that can slam the hotel. The Bayswater/NottingHill Comfort Inns seem to be just one of the disconnects,. Does anyone have any suggestions about a reliable booking site that does reliable reviews. Like most, we want clean, safe and accessible...dont need the biz add-ons

It can be confusing & the hotel pictures can make the place look great & then you get there & it's a closet.
Try going here & looking for a hotel or area.

As you've probably noticed, the descriptions provided on most booking sites are written by the hotels themselves. Trip advisor gives some good info as well as the advice you can get from Fodorites. Many times you just have to do as much research as possible and hope for the best. That's why it's great when people here do trip reports and give us the real low down!

I would reccommend the Westland Hotel. It's between the Nottinghill/Queensway Tube Station.Clean, safe and very accessible. The desk is extremely accommendating. Their website is www.westlandhotel.co.uk. Much preferable to the Comfort Inn in Nottinghill.

If you check the Thistle or londontown.com websites, you can usually find good rates at the Thistle Lancaster Gate, which is right off Bayswater Road near Queensway. It's a chain hotel, but a dependable one, and the rates are probably quite competitive with the Comfort Inns in Bayswater and Notting Hill.

I think the relable reviews and the booking sites are always 2 separate places. First, look at the reviews and decide on some options - then go to a bunch of the booking sites and see where you can getg the best deal (not forgetting the hotels' own site which sometims has the best deals). IMO the booking sites are rarely absolutely wrong - but often put a positive spin on things.
