Livorno to Bastia (Corsica) Ferries
There are two companies which provide car ferry service between Livorno and Bastia (Corsica):
www.moby.it
www.corsicaferries.com
Here are photos of typical ships used on this route:

Length: 396 feet; Width: 64 feet; Speed: 20 knots; Displacement: 5400 tons; 1600 passengers and 570 autos

Length: 481 feet; Width: 68 feet; Speed: 20 knots; Displacement: 13000 tons; 1600 passengers, 223 cabins, 480 autos
Other ships are also substituted, including very fast ferries (Corsica Ferries) which cut travel time nearly in half from the standard 4 hours.
Moby Lines crossings are not daily during the winter months, but both companies increase services significantly during the summer. Moby Lines has recently extended its crossings to year-round, to compete against Corsica Lines, which generally has more services.
NOTE: There are also crossings from Savona (Corsica Ferries, year-round) and Genova (Moby, end of May through end of September only)

Don't know about Moby Lines, but Corsica ferry allows you to occupy a cabin overnight the night before the early morning departure. Don't remember the cost, it was several years ago, but it wasn't very expensive, quite a bit less than getting even a cheap room in Livorno, and we didn't have to get up early and rush around to make it to the ferry before departure.

The cabin costs 56 Euros (inside) or 64 Euros (outside), and you can keep it during the crossing the next morning!!!!! As Julia notes, this is indeed a "good deal"
By contrast, Moby Lines sells cabins for day crossings at the low fare of 12 Euros. While very cheap, the cabin is pretty useless for the 4-hour morning crossings (absent special circumstances or small children). The same is true on Corsica Ferries.
