i have never had one, i usually share my bed in england with the queen....
if it is an american chain hotel, like marriott, i think you can expect it to be american style and size, otherwise i doubt it...send the hotel an e-mail and ask for measurements???

In terms of the two twins joined as a "king"..some places in Europe do this and the result is often called a "French double." However, I agree with contacting the hotel directly and asking for measurements...I suspect you won't have any trouble getting the answer. Just as an aside, recently stayed in Munich at LeMeridien who "advertised" "king" sized beds..they were, too...the standard "king" size (not "California"
