Kinda travel related, keyboard symbols question...

I'm using Word (from Office 2000) and having rebooted the computer have lost the path for entering the symbols for British pounds and the Euro. Anyone know how to find them?

DiAblo, there is a thread named €, but if you can't create the symbol, I guess you can't search for it, huh?

So first of all, you can hold down the alt key, type 0128, and when you release the alt key you should get a euro. You can also type & euro ; (but with no spaces in between) and it should produce the symbol. Substitute pound and you'll get that symbol.

I will also top the thread I mentioned for you. It's got LOTS of cool info in it.

Thanks, Marilyn, but neither process worked for me...I used to be able to switch languages to English U.K. and then type the # key to produce the symbol for sterling, but I've just updated some things and that trait seems to have disappeared.

Found this out...

go to settings,
control panel
keyboard,
language
select English Britain (or U.K.)

this will put a small icon in your taskbar with ENG. You can click on it for American or British English. In the English mode the # (capital 3) becomes the symbol for GBP.

You can switch from lanuguage to language with a click or two.
