Sherry - I spend two days and two nights there. The weather wasn't really conducive to a tour out to Connemarra - which is what I really wanted to do with one of those day. I'm very much a people person/people watcher, so I was content to wander around the town, shopping and pub crawling. The Quays had a good band playing on a Monday night. The King's Head has jazz on Sundays. I found a great little bead store and kind of got lost in there for a while. Found an internet cafe to check my email (it was kind of a working holiday for me) but the connection was very slow compared to others I've been to. Everything was on sale while I was there, but I tried to control my shopping (not very successfully). There were sooo many Americans, it was almost funny. I was sitting in the lobby of the hotel late one night having a great political discussion with a couple of college students - turned out one of them lived 45 minutes away from me at home. <BR>For the town itself, I wouldn't say you need more than a day, but it's a great base for some of the outlying areas and the nightlife was great - whether you're looking for a quiet pub or live music. I didn't go to any of the clubs, but there seemed to be a good many of them. Feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] if you want exact names.
