JFK to FRA 1 hr layover

Hello,
I booked a flight through United (who's very difficult to reach at the moment) and noticed I only have 1 hr layover from Frankfurt to catch my connecting flight to Florence. I've had a 2 hr layover there before to Munich and that was sufficient time. However last year, I had a 1 hr layover from CDG to MAD and missed our connecting flight.

Has anyone managed to catch a connecting flight from FRA with just 1 hr to spare?

Thanks!
Ncz

I've made 50min connections and missed 90min connections. Flights from the US to Europe generally benefit from a tailwind, but 60min does not leave any wiggle room for delays.

As long as it's one ticket the airline is responsible for getting you to your destination. But when does their next flight leave? And will it have any empty seats?

You will have to go through Immigration - which can be lengthy for non-EU citizens.

Can you change your flight now?

In my 20+ trips through FRA I've never had immigration take more than 15min. For a tight connection I've even been whisked through a shortcut line by LH agents who were waiting for me to arrive.

I had a connecting time of 2 hrs last fall at FRA, using United.

Barely made it.

One way to guesstimate, is to check flight status to see what terminal the planes are landing / taking off from.

Using a terminal map, you can judge your transit time.
