Time needed at EWR for overseas flights question

Anyone know if two hours is enough time between a flight arriving at EWR from Spain and one leaving for another US destination. Both on Continental, same ticket. I tend to think it is, as Continental has it's own terminal. I've flown in and out of EWR but never transferred to another flight. But my traveling companion will need to catch her connecting flight to Charlotte and is worried that two hours isn't enough to clear customs, etc. What do you think?

We've done this several times without any problems changing airlines and terminals.

The place you get slowed down is going through security again; just tell the staff that you are coming from an international flight and connecting with a very short time window they'll let you go to the head of the line.

You have two potential bottlenecks - immigration and passport control. If your plane lands on time you should be OK. If it lans late and a lot of others land at the same time yu might not make it. If this is o ne ticket you're OK - since the airline is responsible for getting you to your destination as soon as possible. If on different tickets I wouldn;t risk it - since then it's your problem - not theirs - and you would be considered a "no show" and have to buy a new ticket at whatever price then available.

Of course there is always the possibility of some irregularity like a late arriving flight, but in general two hours is sufficient at EWR - I've done it in less and been fine. Since you are on a single ticket for the entire trip, even if a missed connection happens you are in good shape, would be rescheduled on the next flight.

Continental does have its own terminal with International Arrivals at Newark - Terminal C - but sometimes Continental international flights will come into Terminal B (International Arrivals for all but Continental). Who knows why they do this - I'm guessing because of no available jetway at Terminal C.

If you do come into Terminal B and need to depart from Terminal C, there is a walk way between the terminals which is quicker than taking the monorail - follow the signs and the Continental crew. Term B international arrivals is at the far end of the terminal so it's only a short walk to Terminal C.

Some Continental flights (mostly Continental Express) arrive and depart from Terminal A so verify which terminal your next flight is departing from.

hey,

I will have the same terminal connection B to C in Newark. Will arrive on Lufthansa's later flight from Frankfurt and will have to clear immigration and recheck my baggage and then proceed to terminal C for my onwards flight to Panama (PTY). I have 1:45 hrs between the flights, so I hope there will be no surprises

Any tips to change terminals as quickly as possible? Where exactly will I find the walkway between the terminals? because on the Terminal maps I can't find any

Thanks a lot,
Hubs
