Don't forget that Sainte Chappelle, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, etc. are also on the pass. It is worth going to the top of the Arc for the view and if you are into gargoyles, there are some great ones on top of Notre Dame (the interior is free, the towers are not).
And another tip, if you are near the Samaratine dept store, go to the top, it is one of the best views in Paris (and it's free).
And I don't see the Musee d'Orsay on your list either, I know you have a full itinerary but that's one of my favorite art museums in the world. If you like impressionist art, I would try to squeeze an hour or two there.

OOoohh, thanks Kristi!! That book sounds like it's right my alley. Perhaps I should buy it as an after-Christmas gift for myself.
Hi Miss Adrienne, I do plan to go to Paris, with the kids, but at this point am not sure if it'll be this spring (was planning late March/early April to coincide with Spring Break & part of Easter holiday) but might have to hold off until next Christmas due to budget concerns, etc..
What about you, Adrienne? Paris? Elsewhere?

We planned to buy a carnet of 10 metro tickets, and I was curious whether we can use this to take the RER from DCG to the city (St. Michel stop) or if we need to buy something separate. If so, can we buy metro and RER tickets in the same place at CDG? Lastly, can we buy the museum pass at the airport? Thanks a lot for the help.

If memory serves me, the carnet tickets can't be used to get from CDG to the city (BTW, 2 or more people can share a carnet since they are separate tickets). If you take a look at this website it appears that tickets for the RER from Roissy CDG are 7.6 euro

According to the museum pass website www.intermusees.com the pass is available at
participating museums and monuments
major metro stations
Paris Tourist Bureau
FNAC tickets counters (sorry don't know what this is)
Beatchick, I ordered that book from Amazon on 12/16 and it already arrived! Gotta love Amazon! It's too big to lug to Paris though so I am bringing the Michelin Green Guide and the Cadogan guide I just bought for Paris and maybe I will copy a few pages from this one. And I also got a copy of "Paris Then and Now" that compares old photographs of Paris with similar current photographs, definitely a coffeetable book.

no, you can't use the single metro tickets to get from CDG. The single tickets are for zones 1-2 only (really zone urbain or something, but that's close to what that is -- RER in zones 1-2 and the metro anywhere it goes). The RER from CDG starts in zone 5, so those tickets won't work.
Just ask the ticket clerk for a separate ticket for that journey. Say you want a ticket from CDG into central Paris (or say the arrondisement if you know it). You can buy a carnet there also. They should have the museum pass there and you can ask for it, but I haven't ever bought it out there myself. FNAC is a big music/book/electronics store and they have a ticket agency, also. THere are several around Paris and more small FNAC agencies, but there is a big one around place Bastille and on rue de Rennes a couple blocks south of Montparnasse metro stop.
Getting it at a metro stop is easiest. If you can't get it at CDG, get it at the place you get off.

Kristi, coooooool! I've been wanting the Cadogan Guide, too, since Jason (with some #s behind his name) mentioned it to me along with some really interesting stuff that I hadn't seen in other guidebooks!!
