My wife and I just returned from Turkey and we highly recommend the Side Hotel which is across the street from 7 hills. $50 per night and very clean.

I second the Side Hotel. Great location, great price, and ok breakfast. The rooms were a good size and everything was clean. The staff is very personable and remembers you when they see you. I will definitely stay there next time.

Just got back, The Arcadia Hotel in the Sultanamet area was very nice, big room & bath. Rooftop restaurant had nice view of the Blue Mosque etc. & sunset. nice clean safe area. In Cappadocia, I highly recommend the Gamirasu Cave Hotel, www.Gamirasu.com or contact Sulyman at www.CappadociaTours.com. Great, friendly staff, rates include breakfast & dinner. Suleyman saved us money on our Turkish Airlines flights as well. Istanbul to Kysera $85, Kaysera-Istanbul-Izmir (Kusadasi/Ephusus) $115. He was great to work with & the tours we took were in a car w/driver at our pace.

abc, thank you for posting. I was already booked to go to Cappadocia for six nights, but since you have told me even a week is not long enough to see it, I have canceled my trip there. Is there a place you can recommend that I can see in less than a week? It doesn't have to be in Turkey.
