Ischia or Procida?
Considering spending a couple of days based in either Ischia or Procida (I've been to Capri and want to try somewhere new). Any comparisons, pros, cons would be greatly appreciated! I'd be going in October, what's everyone's thoughts on this? Thanks

I went to Ischia last month and had a great time. Great food and lovely beaches. It is a lot cheaper than Capri but I dont think has the class of Capri. It is very German - pro or con depending on your point of view - but I prefer to meet all walks of life rather than the one. I wouldnt go back but glad I went.

Nutella: I don't know I think I really wanted to do something a little different, but not too far out, cuz I'm going it solo for the first time. I think the main reason is because of a poster, Joedy, who is from US stationed in Naples. He wrote such a wonderful report about it, it just sounded like the place for me.

October in either place will be a quiet time. No, it isn't beach weather either. Ischia, as you probably know, is much larger, livelier, and has many more things to do and see than Procida. But Procida is small, less touristy, charming, different, and a bit more like one of the Italian islands must have been before tourism. Having been to both, I would have to say that they are really so different that you have to decide what you want: More size and things to see and do on Ischia, or more charm and peacefulness on Procida.

That's why I thought it would be better to stay on Procida and just do a day trip to Ischia - maybe a spa treatment, and then return to the peace and quiet of Procida. I'm hoping the weather will be like last year at that time when I was in Sorrento and Capri.

The weather last year was absolutely perfect. I'd say 70-80, with a nice breeze. At night you could sit outside with maybe a light sweater, some nights you didn't even need one. I think that might have been an exceptionally good fall tho. It was like that all over Italy, even the Cinque Terre.
