How to get to Karlovy Vary ?

Dear all -
We are leaving for a 3 weeks trip tomorrow nite. 1st stop is Prague.
We made rsvp for a spa treatment at the Castle Spa in Karlovy Vary, for Sunday afternoon.

My question : What would be the easiest/shortest transport to KV (from Prague)?
Does the bus/train has a different schedule on Sunday ? Do they run pretty often ?

I'm hoping someone would know the answer for this...any experience or perhaps local expert?
Many2 thanks in advance !

Yes often every day - bus may be quicker and cheaper than train.

www.bahn.de German rail site has schedules for Czech trains.

Thx for the reply.
Does the bus drop you off in or near the KV center ?
I assume we can buy the bus tix on the travel day ?

As for the train option, which station is in the center ? There seem to be 4 stations: Dolni, Dvory, Brezova & Doubi.

i was in KV long long ago - in commie days and even then i thought it was really neat.

keep topping as someone will sooner or later know the answer to the question.

Or go to a bookstore and look at a copy of Lonely Planet's Eastern Europe as they carry info like that.

Bus is quicker to that destination than the train. I think it takes about half the time or a little more. YOu can get express buses to KV from Prague at the FLorenc bus station. The train takes about 3.5-4 hours to get there, bus around 2. The bus station is walkable in 15 min or so from the center, or you can take a local bus. They are fairly frequent from Prague, but I don't know the current schedule.

Check this for bus and train schedules, they seem to have one to KV about every hour on Sunday (bus)
www.idos.cz

Rail only shows one main station.
