We stayed in a B&B. You might want to take a look at my trip report; click on my name to find it.

Yuo really need to tell us specifically what you mean by "reasonable" - Sweden isn;t cheap.

"Reasonable" is in the eye of the beholder. We stayed at the Lady Hamilton in Gamla stan a few years ago. I liked it but it's a very old building, from the 1400's, the rooms are small, and its really funky, lots of folk art and antiques. It has a kind of B & B feel about it. There was a really good breakfast included in our room rate.

It was a great location. I doesn't have air conditioning so if you go in the summer it may not do for you, we were there in the dead of winter, so air conditioning wasn't an issue.

Not actually sure what I mean by reasonable -- I know Sweden will be expensive, but just want a middle of the road hotel -- nothing so cheap that we'll be unhappy, but no need to spend top dollar for luxuries we're not into either. Will look into the Lady Hamilton -- but if that doesn't appeal to my friend (we are going in July) it sounds like we should keep that area in mind.

Also look at the Scandic Hotels in Stockholm. There are several at different levels;they offer big breakfasts and free WiFi.

We've reserved the Crystal Plaza Hotel for August. Reviews seem good and it's a reasonable price. Has anyone stayed there?
