Toulouse is a lovely city. Hope you enjoy. The only hotels I've stayed at there are the Ibis at the airport for ease and budgetting and the Hotel des Beaux Arts. It's very nice, but the rooms seem to vary enormously (I had a garret and my friend a HUGE room), so be picky. It overlooks the river and has an oyster bar on the ground floor

I second Mimi's suggestion re L'Ecyer in Cordes sur Ciel. I stayed there two years ago and it was perfect. I had a huge room with a magnificent view over the valley. The restaurant was top notch also. My only warning is the drive up to Cordes is about the worst I have every encountered

I've booked into the Hôtel du Taur in
Toulouse - it was recommended by Barrie
Kerper in "The Collected Traveler SW
France (Fodors)" and she had read about
it in Lonely Planet.
It's right off the Place du Capitale.
** and very inexpensive so I've got my
fingers crossed!

I have the Michelin book, "1000 hotels and guesthouses in France for less than
€80." It lists 9km from Toulouse "LaFlanerie" in Vielle Toulouse, an ivy covered manor house, 12 rooms, 4 air conditioned, pool, no resto from €67-98
