Hotels in Rome(Spanish Stairs)

I need help finding a hotel in Rome. We used Fodor's to find hotels in Thailand and they were amazing! I am a first timer to Italy and we need to find a hotel close to the Spanish Stairs and Via Veneto. (walking distance)

Any suggestions would be a great help!

What is your budget, roughly? (Hotels in that area can range from about 180 Euro to about 680 Euro or more per night for a double.)

Is there any particular reason why you want to be close to the Spanish Steps and the Via Veneto?

We were hoping to pay around $250-$300. I have been told that is the best spot to get a hotel..We want to be in walking distance of many things.

The best area is the Campo De' Fiore/Pantheon/Navano area. Via Veneto is a bit out of the way.

Are you looking for a room for 2? What time of the year?

That's Navona not Navano.

Agreed with the above. I much prefer the Piazza Navona/Campo di Fiore/Pantheon areas to the Spanish Steps. This area is more central, and there are tons of great restaurants, cafes and gelaterias.

If you go to venere.com you will find hotels in those areas. Click on Italy, Rome, either Via Veneto or Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Steps) and you will get a list of hotels in each area.

That's a good place to start.

We have stayed, and are staying again, at Hotel San Carlo. It would fit your budget. We stayed in their anex building and it was much like a studio apartment bedroom compared to a hotel - my wife absolutely loved it and insisted we stay their for our trip in October...
