Please provide suggestions for a hotel in
Paris. 2 seniors going there in Sept.
We like good areas for walking around and
easy access to other parts of the city.

hotel du trois colleges. it is a block from the pantheon and is adjacent to the sorbonne. there is a subway stop a block away and it is also adjacent to the latin quarter. all of the sights (notre dame, louvre etc.) are in within easy walking distance.

For 115 E/night, inclu bkfst and AC, try the Hotel Bonaparte on rue Bonaparte in the 6th. We have stayed there before and will be going again in the Spring.

Larger rooms for 135 E.

We are in our 60's.

We have stayed many times at the Caron de Beaumarchais in the Marais District, 4th Arrondisement. Near the Seine, Ile St. Louis, Notre dame, Metro stop: Hotel de Ville. Have tea or brunch at "Mariage Freres" nearby. Restaurant Ma Bourgogne near Place des Vosges is reasonable, no credit cards.

Rooms are small but very well-appointed. Hotel proprietors are the Bigeards, pere et fils. They are most cordial. About #140 per night.

Marais is an interesting place to walk around in.

My wife and I are "seniors" and have
really enjoyed both of these hotels-
in the 6th ... near Metro ... shops,
restarurants, etc Try, and you won't
regret:
1. Le Sainte Beauve
2. Hotel Pas des Calais

I second Ira's suggestion of Hotel Bonaparte. Great location, many cafes nearby, two metros within a couple of blocks. Very upscale shops...Bonaparte is a very nice street. We were two ladies in our mid-50's and we felt perfectly at home there.

We also stayed at Hotel de Notre Dame. There are several with similar name...this is the one on Rue Maitre Albert, Left Bank. You couldn't ask for a better location. 50 paces from the Seine right at Notre Dame cathedral and Ile St. Louis. Fabulous walking area. Many restaurants, Metro less than a block.

The room was small, but well appointed. Nice sized bath. More "updated" than the Bonaparte. 150E for double. Bkfst add 7E.

Strongly recommend the Hotel Muguet, located on the 7th arrondissement, walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, Trocadero and the Invalides. Excellent restaurants in the area, but located on a side street in a residential area. Check out their website, they are very prompt on e-mail replies and they book very quickly.

Just returned today from one week stay at Marriott Champs Elysees. Good hotel four blocks from the Arc de Triomphe; 2 blocks from Metro; and very close to many must see places: Tour Eiffel; Musee D'Orsay; Louvre; etc.

I woule advise you an Hotel in the heart of paris, located in a quiet street of the latin quarter. it is the hotel Saint Paul, about 144 euros the room for 2. It is a nice three stars hotel, you can check out what the rooms look like in their web site

Thanks for the Muguet's new site. We have stayed there 3 times now (are also "seniors&quot and it is a lovely place. It is a block and a half from Ecole Militaire Metro and is near 5 different bus lines. We have come to much more enjoy the bus service--above ground, no long correspondances and steps as in the Metro.

I'll be staying at the Hotel Muguet in the 7th around the end of April. Does anyone know about parking in this area? How much, how far is a garage from the hotel, and so on?

I stay in the area near the Muguet all the time, and I've never seen a parking garage anywhre. You actually can probably find on-street parking in that neighborhood. There are usually spots along the avenue Duquesne and avenue de Tourville that are open in the early evening and early morning.

There are two underground parking garages near the Muguet. One is at La Motte Picquet and Bourdonnais at Place Joffre and the other in at Esplanade des Invalides. Both within easy walking to the hotel, just in different directions.
